During the Open Burning Season of October 1st through April 30th each year there are several important rules that must be followed when burning.

Open burning is allowed by Pinal County and approved by the Apache Junction Fire District by permit.  Permits are issued by the Pinal County Air Quality Control Department.

We remind those choosing to have either recreational fires, or for those burning tree and brush trimmings from their properties to follow the AJFD Opening Burning Guidelines.

If your burning causes nuisance smoke calls or complaints resulting in our response, we may ask you to extinguish your fire.

We encourage citizens to be courteous and accommodating to their nearby neighbors during any open burning experience.

Above all, be safe around fire!
